Tinctures are alcohol extracted products. Alcohol is extremely efficient in pulling the active ingredients from your herbs.
A few drops are placed under the tongue. Small capillaries in the mouth rapidly absorb the active ingredients for quick effects that typically last awhile.
Drops can easily be micro-dosed and be taken readily anywhere.
Tinctures break down rapidly if exposed to heat or light. Tinctures should be kept in sealed, dark containers, kept away from heat or light.
Glycerin can be used rather than alcohol but is only about 1/3 as potent for the same amount of herbs.

Ingredients
Below is a common ratio to use for infusion. Adjust amount to personal preference or machine capacity.
- ¼ ounce/7g Decarbed herb per cup
- 1 cup Grain alcohol (151 of 190 proof) or propylene glycol
Quick Start: How to
Following is a Quick Start to infusing alcohol or PG. For more detailed instructions, reference your machine's Instruction Manual.
- On the EdiWhip,
- Fill the strainer with decarbed herb and place in the EdiWhip.
- Place remaining ingredients into the chamber and place the lid securely on.
- Select Tincture and Start.
- On the EdiOven,
- Insert the strainer in the purple infusion sleeve.
- Insert the purple infusion sleeve into the metal decarb cup.
- Place your ingredients into the assembled cup.
- Follow the Infusion Instructions in your machine's manual.
- When the time is done, the machine will beep and automatically turn off.
- Allow 15-20 minutes for the contents to cool down.
- Unplug from the outlet and take the lid off.
- Place the strainer basket into a large mixing bowl or measuring cup. Pour the infused mixture slowly through your strainer. Use a spatula or press device to squeeze out the liquid.
- To increase the potency and make stronger tinctures, pour into a plate or large blowl and allow some of the alcohol to evaporate.
- If too strong, cut it with spring water or another mixer.
- Refrigerate or store in dark glass bottles in a cool, dry place.
TIPS:
For best results, use 190 proof grain alcohol (vodka). If 190 is not available in your location, 151 proof will work.
CAUTION: Heating alcohol releases highly flammable fumes that may result in injury. Use these materials at your own risk.
No smoking. Use in a well ventilated area.
Never use an open flame, natural gas or propane burner near the alcohol process.
